GOODREADS SYNOPSIS:

What if America had a royal famil? When America won the Revolutionary War, it’s people offered General George Washington a crown. Two and a half centuries later, the House of Washington still sits on the throne. As Princess Beatrice gets closer to becoming America’s first queen regnant, the duty she has embraced her entire life suddenly feels stifling. Nobody cares about the spare except when she breaks the rules, so Princess Samantha doesn’t care much about anything either... except the one boy who distinctly off-limits to her. And then there‘s Samanthas twin, Prince Jefferson. If he’d been born a generation earlier, he would have stood first in the line for the throne, but then the new laws of succession make him third. Most of America adores their devastatingly handsome prince... but two very different girls are vying to capture his heart.

THE CARPENTER CONFESSIONS REVIEW:

I’ve always been obsessed with royalty, so when I heard about American Royals, I was sucked in immediately. American Royals has the fun royalty bring, with the dresses, balls, and all the drama in between. It is filled with important life decisions that come with growing up, you can relate with everything but the royal piece that is. A book that I couldn’t put down and wanted more of as soon as I read the last page.

American Royals was a fantastic book that I couldn’t get enough of. The content of this book was phenomenal throughout the whole story. I loved every character, except one and they all gave their own purpose to make an amazing story. Katharine McGee did a wonderful job capturing the royal life and she made me wish America was under a Monarchy. I feel we would have way more fun! I can’t wait for Majesty because we were totally left on a cliffhanger.

I didn’t give this book a five star because I did feel it to be slightly slow to begin and it took me a little to completely fall in love with it. Once I did, I was hooked! That is really the only reason and it isn’t a downfall, more of me needing more. I recommended this book to my sister and she also fell in love with this book and said she may have found a new favorite.

WHO I‘D RECOMMEND TO:

This book is the great for anyone honestly! I think a lot of preteen/teenage girls are who this book really gravitates towards. It is very simple and innocent, but has the perfect romance that makes you fall into a wonderful story.
