THE CARPENTER CONFESSIONS REVIEW:
Next up in the Throne of Glass series was Empire of Storms. I’ve loved every single book so far, but honestly this one had me quite disappointed until the last 200 pages or so. I was hoping for an amazing story following Queen of Shadows, but Empire of Storms wasn’t as action packed. I thought it was going to lead a different direction than it did. This doesn’t mean it was bad, I just wasn’t wanting to turn the page as fast as I can until later in the book. I think coming out of Queen of Shadows, I had my hopes set too high and I got slightly let down.
I’m so focused on saying how I didn’t like it as much as Queen of Shadows, I’m not saying how I still really liked the book. There were some new characters I did fall in love with and relationships that grew and I loved that part of the story. I confirmed who my favorite character is and who I’m not really liking. The way all the stories blended and came together at the end was a huge one of the favorite parts about the whole book for me. The ending had me shook and I’m trying my best not to skip Tower of Dawn and go straight to Kingdom of Ashes. I gave this a 4.25 because I couldn’t give it a four because it didn’t deserve that rating, but a higher rating would not be what I truly felt about it. It fell in the middle of great and ok, I’d say Sarah J. Maas does it again.
